Chloe - 179

After scoring a 170 on my first attempt at the LSAT, I had an ambitious goal to seriously improve my score, something that is very difficult to do once you’re already scoring in the 170s. I knew I needed a tutor who wouldn’t simply repeat textbook LSAT tips, but actually personalize my tutoring by analyzing my patterns of thinking and cutting to the core of my weaknesses and misconceptions so I could achieve mastery.

That is precisely what Neil did. As a chronic over thinker, Neil helped me block out the noise that had me mulling over wrong answer choices and wasting time. My biggest weakness was logical reasoning, and Neil helped me internalize two essential lessons that transformed my success on this test: (1) predict before you go into the answer choices and (2) even if you’re not certain about whether an answer choice is correct, you can be certain that the other 4 are wrong. Simplifying LR this way- combined with lots of practice, which Neil was really good at encouraging me to do- had me quickly reaching 1 to no wrong answers per section. By the time my LSAT date rolled around, I felt endlessly more confident because I wasn’t just taking a stab at questions, but moving with clarity and certainty.  I ended up scoring a 179.

I also want to mention that I studied with Neil over a summer in which I based in a developing country. Despite my WiFi and electricity constantly going out during our sessions, and lots of fluctuations in my schedule, Neil was always patient and courteous. He’s truly a nice, personable guy and a refreshing person to have on your side when facing this daunting test. Neil is worth your money, and I can’t recommend him enough.

GIULIO - 174

Neil is an amazing tutor and I don’t believe I would have improved nearly as much without his help. He’s extremely level-headed, knowledgeable, and clear in his explanations of the LSAT’s complex material. I had the most trouble with the Reading Comprehension section and he showed me new approaches to it that I hadn’t tried before and that boosted my score quite a bit. He also seems to have a unique ability to clearly see every part of an argument on the Logical Reasoning section, so he can provide full explanations of every question and their answer choices that one cannot get by studying independently.

I was on a bit of a plateau before working with Neil, scoring in the low 160’s consistently after having studied for about 10 months. I had a different tutor before him and took a 3-month prep course that gave me the fundamentals, but I was looking for higher-level strategies. On the Logical Reasoning section, Neil helped me solidify my approach for the question types that I struggled with most: Strengthen and Weaken questions. The overall approach was to find the flaw first and not move on to the answer choices until I fully understood the stimulus and found the flaw. This allowed me to cut through Logical Reasoning sections like butter as I was no longer getting bogged down in trap wrong answer choices. I developed the ability to spot flaws quickly, predict the right answer, and simply choose the right answer, rather than comparing confusing wrong answers with each other as I had been.

For Reading Comprehension, the most useful strategy Neil taught me was to zoom far out conceptually on general scope questions. Instead of re-reading parts of the text for these question types, one simply needs to return to the main point of the passage to determine the correct answer. This shaved minutes off of each passage for me. Additionally, he pushed me to stop ranking passages and instead start doing them in order, which freed up another couple of minutes on each section.

He’s also very personable and interested in his students’ success. I got the sense that he truly wanted to see me maximize my score, not just tell me what I wanted to hear, which resulted in highly productive feedback that I could incorporate into my studying. Each week I left our tutoring sessions with a good idea of where I was going wrong and how I could shift my approach to score higher. I paired this feedback with detailed journaling of incorrect answers (why the wrong answers were wrong and why the correct answers were correct) from my practice tests and timed sections, which skyrocketed my score.

After I graduated, I knew that I would have a relatively short window to prepare for and take the LSAT before starting my job. My LSAT preparation was more of a sprint than a marathon, and Neil was able to help me every step of the way. We met 1-2 times per week throughout the fall and summer and ensured my LSAT process went smoothly.

During our sessions, Neil’s detailed explanations and direct approach helped to simplify the more difficult logical reasoning questions and reading passages. Each week we made progress and I became more comfortable with the exam. However, Neil was the most effective at helping me overcome the plateaus that I hit every couple of weeks. His calm demeanor and confidence in me helped me overcome the inevitable challenges that come with preparing for a difficult test. Without fail, Neil helped me discover new ways to improve my test-taking skills and consistently apply them. I am certain that I would not have achieved my score without Neil’s help.

Also, Neil was gracious and accommodating in working with me when it was difficult to schedule consistent practice sessions. My LSAT preparation overlapped with the start of a new job, and I was concerned that I would not be able to balance these priorities simultaneously. During this chaotic period, Neil went out of his way to help me find time to study and meet with him. Neil’s help balancing the LSAT and work was perhaps more important to my LSAT success than his teaching skills. There are few LSAT instructors who could have prepared me for the test as well as Neil did, but even fewer, if any, who could have combined the teaching skills with his personality and overall approach to the process.

WESLEY - 169

Going into the law school admissions process, I knew nothing other than the fact that I should take the LSAT. I deliberated quite a bit on whether I should use a test prep company, tutor, or self-study and ended up hiring Neil as a tutor, looking for a more personal approach to test prep that can be adjusted to my very individual learning quirks. Neil was great at doing exactly this. Not only were his approaches to question review helpful, but so were his psychological tips for the test. Not only does Neil masterfully understand how the LSAT thinks, but he teaches an approach to the exam which makes you feel confident and prepared for test day. He became familiar with how I approach questions and was able to correct me when necessary.

From the point of my diagnostic onward, I met with Neil once a week for around 3 months and by the end, was consistently practice-testing at my goal score. My final score was 11 points higher than my diagnostic, something I was very proud of. There is no way I would have developed the same kind of confidence on the LSAT were it not for his strategy and approaches to thinking about the test. My reading comprehension, which once seemed somewhat impenetrable to me, became my highest section. As for logical reasoning, Neil helped me see real patterns in what the questions are asking for and how to quickly spot a right answer. Comfortability with the LSAT seemed impossible when I was beginning and by the end, I was astounded at how my relationship to the exam had improved. He gets you there!
Above all, though, he’s just a great guy! He’s really funny, smart, and makes test prep not feel like so much of a chore. I would do the experience again if given the opportunity.

PATRICK - 165

In twelve sessions over the course of four months, Neil helped me improve my LSAT score from a 151 to a 165. He was able to quickly identify where I was struggling and gave me useful suggestions and analyses to develop my skills. With his background and success on the test, he was able to provide insights into the most effective ways for me to prepare for the exam that I would not have considered without his help. He held me accountable and was not quick to show me my errors when he believed that I could find them myself.

Neil recognizes that not every test taker has the same goals or abilities. He encouraged me to be optimistic and recognize my potential. He was supportive of my progress, but at the same time pushed me to be the best test taker I could be. His prices are fair, and he was very accommodating of my schedule. I am proud of my improvement, and I could not have done it without Neil’s help.

ISAAC - 167

When I first met Neil, I was skeptical as to whether tutoring would enable me to significantly improve my LSAT score. I had spent many months studying for the exam through another tutoring program and felt frustrated that during my practice tests I was still scoring well below my goal. However, after several sessions with Neil, I immediately started testing better, eventually improving my score by more than ten points.

What initially struck me about Neil was his ability to explain how I should be addressing each question on the exam and highlighting where I went wrong in my approach. I particularly welcomed his ability to break down dense passages in the Reading Comprehension section of the exam, which was initially my weakest section. Neil repeatedly worked with me on my target areas until I was testing well within my target score range, meeting me every step of the way when I had questions.

One of the things I appreciated most during my time with Neil was his directness and candor. Much of the LSAT tries to trick you, and Neil would always ensure I do not develop bad habits when answering each question type. He was truly invested in my progress and enjoyable to meet with when I was preparing for the exam. I wholeheartedly recommend choosing Neil as your tutor if you want to do the substantive work that will get you a higher score in this exam.

Ropa - 154

Working with my LSAT tutor, Neil, was a total game-changer. I came into tutoring with my own way of approaching the test, but it just wasn’t working. Neil helped me completely relearn how to strategize and approach each section more effectively. His methods were incredibly insightful and made me see the test in a whole new light. He didn’t just throw tips at me—he broke things down in a way that made sense and built my confidence with each session.

Neil is also one of the most patient and caring tutors I’ve ever worked with. He’s genuinely invested in helping you reach your goal score and it shows in how he teaches. My weakest area was Logical Reasoning, and thanks to Neil, it became something I felt much more comfortable with. He helped me grow so much in that section, and I finally felt prepared and ready to take on the LSAT with confidence.

Andres - 169

When I first started working with Neil, I was consistently scoring around 155 on practice exams. After working with him, I’ve steadily climbed into the high 160s and even the 170s, something I wouldn’t have thought possible just a few months ago. Neil is incredibly knowledgeable and always comes to each session well prepared, with strategies and examples tailored exactly to the areas I need to improve. He uses every tool at his disposal to make sure I fully understand the material, breaking down even the most complex LSAT concepts in a clear, approachable way.

Neil doesn’t just teach the test, he provides thoughtful, actionable advice that changes how you think about each section. Whether it’s refining my Logical Reasoning approach, building efficient Reading Comprehension strategies, or tightening up my timing, his guidance has been transformative. On top of his expertise, he’s an extremely kind, forthcoming, and supportive person who genuinely cares about his students’ success. I always leave our sessions with a clear plan, renewed confidence, and the sense that he’s as invested in my progress as I am. Working with Neil has been one of the best decisions I’ve made in my LSAT prep.
